Meeting my wife has taught me many things, but one of those lessons is that the phrase "Opposites attract" is certainly not just talking about magnets. I could go on about the ways in which we differ, but that's not what this post is about. This is about one of the times that our differences led us into a hilarious situation. Aside from our honeymoon, we decided that we were going to take two other short trips last year. My wife chose the one and I chose the other. She chose a trip to Colorado to see Big Gigantic in concert at the Red Rocks, while I chose a trip to Disney World. Since we ended up buying a house and my parents had promised us a trip to LA (and Disneyland) over New Year's, we decided to skip out on the Disney trip. My wife felt bad that we couldn't do the trip that I wanted, so she wanted to make Colorado as exciting as she could for me. For this week's TuesGay Spotlight, I was lucky enough to interview Kate Christie about her newest book in the "Girls of Summer" series. Book Four, The Road to Canada , was released on February 29. If you haven't read the first three books in this series yet (seriously, what are you waiting for), the story follows Emma Blakeley and Jamie Maxwell. Book one starts out with them meeting at soccer camp in high school and the books continue to follow their story as they become professional soccer players. One of the most exciting parts of wedding planning was finding the perfect dress. I knew I had found my dream wedding dress the moment I put it on. Of course, my mom made me try on about a thousand more before I could decide that it was the one. But in the end, I went with that first dress I tried on.  Every time I went in for a fitting and put the dress back on, I dreamed about the moment that I would see my wife walking down the aisle toward me, both in our white dresses. Last week (January 30th to be exact) was the six year anniversary of the night that I officially asked my now-wife, Michelle, to be my girlfriend.
